request - an Orthodox english translation of the Scriptures, old and new.

I'm primarily looking for a translation of the Psalms, but having a
copy of it all would be good.

Naturally, I have the OSB - but I think it needs a revision,
correcting some of the mismatched NT references to the OT. My
opinion, machts nichts.

I have the EOB:New Testament (Eastern Orthodox Bible) but it hath
not the Psalms.

I'm aware of the NET version as the Most Accurate English
Translation. but it is meant as a scholarly reference, and not as
personal bible. (I recall trying to use it, footnotes were often
longer than the passages.)

I'm also aware of the late 19th century English translation of the
Septuagint by Brenton ($5000 on Amazon) but while I'm familiar with
the KJV, I'd rather a more 'modern' translation. (Yes, I know, to the
Orthodox the King James _is_ the "new" translation.)

There is (or was, it may be out of print) "The Common Bible", based on
the RSV.

The RSV was produced by Protestant scholars in the 1940s.

A Catholic Edition was published in the 1960s.

The Common Bible had the input of Orthodox Scholars (Collins, New York
& Glasgow, 1973).

I believe its version of the Psals was used by St Thikhon's Press for
their service books, used by the OCA & others.

Here ‘ye’ go, lots of ‘em for less than 50 bucks the first on the list
was with both the Greek and the English. For 27 Bucs hard cover, paperback
was 56 smackeroos. It includes the Apocrypha. It is a photo replication of
the 1851 version, You can see an example of the text as well. Have fun
exploring all the various printings.

5 grand is for an origin printing and if I remember correctly was printed in
a set of books.

You can even order large print verions of his translation.
