This time of year for the christian, there are many thoughts, some
commemorations, but have you ever in your life realized what Jesus, The Son
of Man, did for you?
Jesus came and did for His Father, as Abraham’s son was willing to do for
his Dad.
But Jesus died, Issac didn’t.
Jesus, “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal
with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a
man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of
the cross.” (Php 2:6-8, KJV)
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the
suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of
God should taste death for every man.” (Heb 2:9, KJV) Yes, He suffered, and
suffered greatly, AS THE SON OF MAN, A MAN, who felt every hair being pulled
from his cheeks, every blow to his head as he was bear up, jeered at, Mocked
yelling at him to tell them who hit him if he was God. He felt every blow, he
felt the sting of those who spat on him as he was beaten, He felt every
stripe as he was beaten with a cat of nine tails with shard embedded in the
leather. His jaw was resolute as he was determined to go through all he had
to in order to accomplish the will of His Dad for the joy that was set before
him.
Before he got to that place of punishing, he showing what was to befall
him“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” (Luk 22:42, KJV)
“And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And
being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were
great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” (Luk 22:43-44, KJV)
He suffered greatly, as a man, The Son of Man. A man who was tempted in all
manner such as we, yet He sinned not.
On the cross, he suffered more pain, the crown of thorns, the mocking, the
nails driven into and through both of his hands as well as his feet. Then, as
he was in the throes of death, he felt the Spirit of His Dad, depart from
him, further alienating him as He became pure sin, as he took on the sins of
every man in the world before him, and after him, plus all those around him.
SIN, it permeated his being and he became sin. He felt it all and cried out
loudly!! “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,
Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God,
why hast thou forsaken me?” (Mrk 15:34, KJV)
After the which, He Jesus, gave up his spirit and died. Whereupon Jesus
descended into the lower parts of the earth as ransom for us all. The battle
there then ensued as he was victor rising days later, in our time, with the
keys to death, hell, and the grave. Thus setting the captives free, yes for
those too was he a ransom.
Jesus felt everything, the total emotions of man, the total pain of man, even
the pain of suffering the shame of sins as His Dad Left him on His own.
Nothing ever could we go through that would compare to what he did for us in
this life. Nothing. He, the son of God, gave up all he had, to be born of a
woman as a man. For these reasons he was given a Name above all names. IOW
authority, power, etc. As well as made High Priest for us all, since he knows
us not only as our creator, but also because he walked in out shoes,
suffering the live as man in this fallen world.
“For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the
seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto
his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in
that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that
are tempted.” (Heb 2:16-18, KJV)
So in this time of year, this season as we pay homage to a victorious Christ,
let us remember, this was no cakewalk for him because he came for eternity
past since he gave up or put aside his former Glory as God to become man.
Lest you doubt his desire to be as he was,...“Father, I will that they
also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my
glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of
the world.” (Jhn 17:24, KJV)
Jesus spoke of himself as the Son of Man. He longed to be restored to his
Former Glory, and to share that with all of us. We shall see him soon in ALL
OF HIS GLORY. “And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye
which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in
the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the
twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or
brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands,
for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit
everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall
be first.” (Mat 19:28-30, KJV)
Think on these things as we remember what he did for us. Take it all not
lightly as he gave his all, for us. For each person as an individual, and the
price he paid, paid he also that we might have the power to walk as he did by
the Holy Spirit which he prayed to his Father that we, as believers would
have so that we can walk the walk, as he did.
